The German qualifying events for Seni’s annual international football tournament for people with intellectual impairments was once again held in the Brandenburg city of Joachimsthal. For the first time this year, a second German event in Rothenfels, near Wurzburg, had to be added to cover the increasing number of entries for the tournament. In all, a total of 24 teams from all over Germany competed for four places at the Seni Cup 2016 Finals to be held in Torún, Poland July 6-8.

The Seni Cup is exclusively held for people with intellectual impairments and was founded in 2000 by Seni, one of the world’s leading brands for incontinence and skin care. Numerous teams from all over the country take part in this extraordinary event every year. An award ceremony held at the end of the qualifying event in Joachimsthal honored all of the participants. Many participants from Southern Germany had already competed in the event in Rothenfels.

The tournament also proved very special for ITMS. The agency not only handles marketing and PR for Seni in Germany but was also responsible for the organization of one of the tournaments this year. Christina Wamser, Account Manager at ITMS, and her team, organized and oversaw the Rothenfels event. “The choice of venue could not have been better. We were met with great interest in the region and were very happy to win over the Mayor as a supporter and guest of honor at the event. The closing ceremony was a special moment for all of the players and coaches. The Seni Cup 2016 is sure to remain a warm memory for the participants for a long time,” she describes her impressions.

A trip to Torún, Poland now awaits the four winning teams as they move on to the Seni Cup Finals 2016 in July. The German qualifiers will play against the winning teams from 10 different countries to determine the global champion.
